Description

Romance D’Iris is part of the Jo Malone Silent Flowers Collection which debuted in 2023. It ellicits a sensual and romantic interpretation of the iris flower. This fragrance was conceived as a blossomy love story in Florence. At the heart, iris (the flower of love) seduces us with its powdery scent, hypnotic, and textured. A sensual overdose of heliotrope, rice, and white musk wrap around the composition with a velvet and immersive caress. It features top notes of bergamot and rice; middle notes of iris flower, Florentine iris concrete and violet; and base notes of white musk, vetiver and heliotrope. It is a parfum.

ZARA X JO LOVES ROMANCE D'IRIS REVIEWS

Fragrantica: Romance d'Iris opens up with powdery camphor scent, the kind of pharmacy ointment has. Few moments later, when starting to dry down it transforms into powdery violet-iris with vanilla. It is a beautiful, classy scent that I would compare to Gurrlain L'heure blue at the beginning and dry down Is Burberry The best Elixir intense. Not as complex and refined as Guerlain's but in the same style..In my opinion is unisex leaning feminine. Highly recommend to try to iris lovers.

Fragrantica: I took a chance on blind buying this as I enjoy all the notes listed, and I'm so glad I did. It is absolutely beautiful and everything I enjoy in a fragrance. Powdery, floral, earthy, woody but also a bit milky, clean and fresh. Its cold and soft like crisp white cotton bed sheets. The rice note is there but its not a sweet rice pudding kind of rice. Its more of a powdery, vegetal, green kind of rice. Its a very similar vibe to Arden Beauty except its more powdery and purple floral. Its such a calming fragrance which has helped me through these past few weeks. I always feel good when I wear it.

Fragrantica: Sophisticated, airy, and dark all at the same time. Opening is kind of earthy…? It was a bit jarring when I first smelt it, not in a “ew!” way, but more of a “oh…?” way... Once it dries a bit the iris definitely tones it down. Overall, I think its a pretty fragrance. Leaning feminine, could not really see this a “mens scent”. Also, this is a parfum, not edp. It leaves your skin oily, so id be careful spraying onto white clothing! EDIT: Okay, ive worn this for a few days and its grown on me a lot. First of all its longevity is pretty amazing. I sprayed it on my SKIN at probably 10 a.m and the next day at the same time, I had gotten in the shower. Curious to see if I could still smell it, I rubbed my wrist onto my chest and I could smell it on my wrist! My impression of the scent after wearing it? I love it. Its opening took a bit for me to get used to, but the dry down is heavenly. Its like a slightly sweet, powder puff, but sophisticated… I don’t know how to describe it all the way! I wore it to school and had someone near me say “Someone smells really good!”, which totally boosted my confidence. If you love powdery fragrances TRY THIS OUT!

Fragrantica: Waxy buttery semi sweet woody vanilla iris. Beautiful and lasts for a long long time. Had this one for 10+ hours in my arm it still showed up the next morning but it isn't headache inducing.

Fragrantica: Romance d'Iris will be the more familiar violet-iris blends to your nose amongst this collection. It is somewhat bitter-iris like the carrot seed oil, definitely carrying the true orris root earthiness and not that overly sweetened violet (Toulouse) candy blend you find at times. Safe to assume all of this purpleness is laying down on a thick Iso E Super and white musk layer. I didn't get any "rice" note which seems to be a trending note this year. Performance seems much better on paper compared to other violet/iris blends from the same collection, namely Brulante Violette and Parfait d'Orchidee. This is a violet-iris on stereoids scent, again, very good like the entire collection.

Fragrantica: Just blind bought this, my goodness it's beautiful! I love Iris fragrances anyway so I had no doubts about blind buying it. I get the same vibes in this as I do from Violet Ida and Guerlain l'initial, it's very feminine. It has an underlying sweetness to it and I'm not sure where that's coming from, it's a very subtle sweetness. No dirty musk or anything animalic in this, it's very clean, fresh and totally ethereal. I only used one spray to try it and I could smell it on my wrist for hours. To me the Violet and Iris are the dominant notes in this perfume. A bit more pricey than I'd usually pay for a fragrance from Zara but well worth it, it's a good quality perfume, I could tell that on the first spray.
