Farouche is a floral aldehyde fragrance for women created by Michel Hy using over 100 ingredients that are supposed to react differently on everyone creating a fragrance that is unique to the wearer. Farouche features a crisp opening over a floral heart sitting on a woodsy, mossy base.
Farouche is French for both "wild" and "shy". It is a parfum in the classic French style and seems like it would have been an older release than 1973. It is a creamy white floral fragrance with aldehydes, green notes and mossy, woody undertones.
From a 1977 issue of Vogue: "There is a special kind of woman the French call "Farouche. ... In her image, Nina Ricci, Paris, has created a soft but sensuous fragrance. ... And in her honor, has named it Farouche. Perhaps, you are the Farouche woman. The longer you know the Farouche woman the more interesting she becomes."
Farouche won a FiFi Award in 1975 for Women's Fragrance of the Year - Luxe.
It has been discontinued.
This is the original pure parfum version of the fragrance.
