A rare blend of proprietary perfumery ingredients carefully oxidized by sunlight, sand, air, sea salt, water, and ocean minerals. The result is as changeable and morphing as the ocean... earthy, sweet, musky, saline. Ambre Gris is a perfume.
This is the alcohol free perfume, not an oil. It is also free of parabens, phthalates, PDGs and other unpleasant things. Alkemia is hand-blended and small batch perfumery using natural essences, ethically rendered accords, and lab-created aroma molecules.
Reddit: "Wet - This perfume oil smelled like how someone would think the sea would smell. By that I mean it smells fresh and pleasantly of sea salt. In the Pacific Northwest, our seas smell briny. There is no funk to this perfume oil, which to be honest, I was a little disappointed by. However, it still smelled lovely. Dry- After this perfume oil had dried down on me, the note of musk really shined. This perfume oil was still fresh and a bit salty, with the addition of musk. It was also a bit sweet. I then let this perfume oil rest and I came back to it after 37 days of resting. The overall scent only changed a little bit. Wet after resting- This perfume oil still smells of fresh sea salt, but the musk note comes through more initially. Dry after resting- All of the notes are slightly heightened. I am getting more sweetness and more musk. Overall- 3/5, I was very impressed by this perfume, but I do not think I would purchase a full size."
Reddit: "Absolutely adore this. In the vial, it's extremely aquatic, but on the skin it opens up so beautifully, it's incredible. The musky, salty side comes to the forefront and the aquatic note takes a backseat. Instead, the musk and salt are heated by the sun to expand on my skin that's bordering on almost creamy. This was an instant 5ml buy for me, particularly because it reminds me so much of Aura by Thierry Mugler, which was part of the Le Parfum coffret that was a limited edition (and 700 euro) release to supplement the film back in '06. I paid a pretty penny for a 10ml bottle of that, and while this isn't identical, it's amazing. If you like musky, animalistic, salty scents, you NEED this."
Fragrantica: "A very interesting, mildly salty amber that is not a warm amber like white or gold ambers, but more cool. It's quite unique and a bit musky, as I remember it. Probably not everyone's style but I don't think that's the point of it."
Fragrantica: "At first I thought this reminded me of bath bubbles and scented bath salts that were pretty popular when I was a kid. This evokes some rather pleasant memories. The scent does not feel outdoorsy, thanks to the amber this is a sort of comfort smell, perfect for when you need an extra layer of coziness close to the skin."
Fragrantica: "This is heavenly! Salty and sweet, but not sugary. A bit animalic, in the perfect way. It's a sample that has rested about 3 weeks from it's most recent flight. I'll update if my opinion or the scent changes. I may be buying a bottle of this one!"
