County Fair is the nostalgic scent of an old-fashioned American carnival midway - pink cotton candy, hot kettle corn, freshly fried funnel cakes, candied apples and saltwater taffy. It is a perfume.
This is the alcohol free perfume, not an oil. It is also free of parabens, phthalates, PDGs and other unpleasant things. Alkemia is hand-blended and small batch perfumery using natural essences, ethically rendered accords, and lab-created aroma molecules.
Fragrantica: "I recently order a ton of samples from Alkemia and upon first sniff this was the one I was most scared for. Right out of the oil dabber it smelt exactly like a popcorn jellybean. While I enjoy them from time to time, I was mortified at the idea of smelling like one. However. I can happily say on the skin it smells utterly Delicious. I'm not sure that I can pick apart any one note but it all combines into this delicious, warm and heavy scent (much like the air that fills one's local county fair). It's sweet, it's salty, and it very much smells like some deep fried sweets (without any stale oil smell appearing thus far). I would most certainly buy this in a larger size if not just to continue exploring the notes in it a bit more. A very yummy 8/10 from me."
Fragrantica: "This is one of my favorite scents ever made. I have both the ultime bottle and an alcohol-free spray. I am in love with the kettle corn note. It is just that, fresh hot kettle corn, sweet and salty, but especially freshly buttered. But then I get mixes of cotton candy, caramel apples, and just the littlest bits of funnel cake and taffy here and there, and as a little time goes by every whiff of myself is a sweet new experience. None of it feels especially artificial to me, or too foody, but I'm also really into gourmands and sweet smells, so this might not be that great for those not so into rich, buttery, sweet foodie perfumes. I can see myself purchasing this until they stop making it and I need a replacement."
Fragrantica: "This smells like straight up warm kettle corn on me from start to finish and I absolutely love it! I've had to be in the mood for it though. Pre-pandemic, I loved it but didn't want to wear it much because, it literally smells like the kettle corn cart at the fair on me and though I love fairs and foody scents, I wasn't super nostalgic for fairs as I would go to as many as I could back then! I took my bottle back out today. It's been a few years. It has held up great and really reminded me of the fairs I love. I feel like I want to wear this more now because of how much it smells like what I miss. I never get a fruity note from this and nothing tangy ever appears on my skin, it's just warm, salty, sweet and buttery kettle corn the entire time on me!"
Fragrantica: "Makes me want to throw darts at balloons and win a plush toy. It's a thick scent... not even creamy; it's even more dense. It's doughy. Then comes the sweet popcorn, and it's surprisingly wearable! I was sceptical of "salty" scents, but I'm proven wrong. Then it becomes a bit sweeter and warmer. Very festive, a must have for amusement park heheh!"
Reddit: "DELICIOUS!!! I just want to eat wherever I have Country Fair applied (I know - weird!). My chemistry picks up a strong funnel cake/cotton candy note, but also a super sexy, almost "buttery" note. After about 3 or 4 hours, it is a sweet, powdery gourmand scent, as if the powdered sugar from the funnel cake is all that remains. I love it! This is my "impish" sexy scent."
Reddit: "I absolutely love this perfume! It has a delightful blend of juicy apple and the comforting scent of freshly baked cookies. There's also a subtle powdery note that adds a lovely depth, even though I'm typically not a fan of powdery scents. I will definitely be coming back for more!"
Reddit: "It seriously doesn't get any better than this one! Fall perfection. Or now in summer too to smell yummy! Sellers included wonderful samples and a good size bottle of their spring scent! Awesome!!!!"
Reddit: "When ordering, this was the one I looked the most forward to getting. And yeah, it slaps. Funnel cake funnel cake, some cotton candy, some taffy, yet more funnel cake. So good, guys. Who doesn’t want to smell like a county fair? Well, not that many people, until they’ve worn this of course. 5/5"
Alkemia: "It smells too yummy. I can definitely smell the cotton candy, but the most prominent scent to me is this buttery caramel, just delicious! After a while I can also notice the corn and the apple notes coming out."
