Description

Dustsceawung is the scent of forbidden explorations and an olfactory meditation on dust... attic air, the inside of old trunks, abandoned haylofts, library stacks, and abandoned buildings. It is the contemplation of dust, worldly desires, and the ephemerality of all things... raspings that were once a tree, ruins that were once cities, bones that were once lovers. Dust is always the ultimate destination on our journey. With notes of dust, shadows, wood raspings, attic air and library stacks. This is a perfume.

This is the alcohol free perfume, not an oil. It is also free of parabens, phthalates, PDGs and other unpleasant things. Alkemia is hand-blended and small batch perfumery using natural essences, ethically rendered accords, and lab-created aroma molecules.

ALKEMIA DUSTSCEAWUNG REVIEWS

Fragrantica: Absolutely in love with this green, spooky & mysterious scent. Every time I smell it I get a different note. It is very hard to pinpoint, but immediately upon smelling I get notes of hay, freshly chopped wood, grass, moss, and wet stone. It's very earthy and green, but then you start to get notes of paper and old books. I also smell a lot of leather. It smells very fresh but also very mysterious at the same time. It smells as if you walked into an abandoned underground library that was overtaken by moss and other greenery. It's beautiful and I will definitely be wearing this scent in the fall months.

Fragrantica: Smells like summer nights in Texas when the grass has been mowed that day and the cicadas are singing! There’s a coldness to it and because of the imagery it does remind me of a haunted house depicted on an old vintage paperback cover. A dry green scent that’s gender neutral.

Fragrantica: This one has that same fantastic dusty hay from Bohemiens en Voyage without the sugar! The sweetness in Bohemien’s was a bit of a turn off for me. This one is very dusty/musty and a bit leathery. It’s wonderful and smells like a dusty cobwebbed library in a haunted house.

Fragrantica: Mmmm... the hay in this reminds me of my favorite time of year: RODEO time! That might sound offputting to some people but for me it is a fondly remembered scent! It's like combining the rodeo arena with the dusty Haunted Mansion... which probably sounds terrible, but for me, it's amazing. Love.

Alkemia Perfumes: This scent is so interesting! It's lovely, and not overpowering. Lasts a long time. This scent pulls at a memory waaay in the back of my mind and I can't for the life of me remember what it is. Its strangely comforting :)

Reddit: My favorite of the bunch! Not particularly wearable alone, but it is SO. ON. POINT. And I love it. It kind of makes me want to sneeze. It's that almost moldy smell of dusty ancient wood....this isn't the attic in a new house, this is the attic of an old haunted mansion. It made me immediately think of the attic in Casper with the old toys covered in sheets. This will be so much fun to use as a layering note and I'm totally getting a FS for that purpose. As an atmospheric, I rate it a 10/10.

Reddit: This is essentially Book of Shadows but with more wood. It’s definitely dusty, and a little smokey, but I think that might just be the wood. It’s kind of cool, and anyone who likes Book of Shadows would love this, with the addition of real wood and dust...although I never could get into it because leather book binding notes often smell like cucumbers to me. I know, it’s weird and it sucks. But I’ll keep it just like my bottle of Book of Shadows because I’m pathetic and want to like it. I think I prefer this one, though BOS has that cool and fresh ink note.

Reddit: In the Bottle: *cough* … dusty. Wet on the Skin: Yeah, that’s the smell I would expect if I opened a dusty chest in an attic and found a skeleton in that chest still wearing a wedding dress… if you know what story this is from we’re automatically friends. Dried Down: Along with the *cough* dustiness, there is now an earthiness.. almost a moldiness to this scent.  It smells cold, like a drafty attic full of cobwebbed boxes you want to dig through.  I used to explore abandoned buildings and houses where I grew up in New Jersey, and this brings that back. Overall:  I love the idea of an olfactory meditation, a fragrance simply to relay a memory or vision of a place or time. This hits the nail on the head.. dusty, dingy, and drafty. Certainly not something to wear if you want to attract a mate, unless that mate is a dusty pile of bones in a cellar.
