Description

An atmospheric brooding of Spanish moss, crumbling stone, old cement, red clay brick and graveyard dirt. St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 was founded in 1789 and sits just outside the French Quarter. It is one of New Orleans' most famous 'cities of the dead' and its residents include Bernard de Marigny, the French-Creole playboy who brought the game of craps to the United States; Barthelemy Lafon, the architect and surveyor who allegedly became one of Jean Lafitte's pirates; and the legendary Voodoo priestess Marie Laveau.

This is the alcohol free perfume, not an oil. It is also free of parabens, phthalates, PDGs and other unpleasant things. A hand-blended and small batch perfumery using natural essences, ethically rendered accords, and lab-created aroma molecules.

Alkemia St. Louis Cemetery # 1 Reviews

Alkemia Perfumes: "You want stone, cement, dirt, clay. This is stone, cement, dirt, clay. This is perfection. When life is chaotic and you cannot focus. You need to get your mind together and plant your feet onto the ground. You gotta sniff this. This is pure earth."

Fragrantica: "Just like resting your face against a moss covered headstone near freshly turned earth while it’s raining. cool, earthy and mineral. While wearing it I found myself questioning when I’d want to smell like cold damp cement, perhaps in a particularly pious situation?"

Indie Scent Library: "Primarily stone and moss, with a bit of soil. I don’t know how many of you have actually smelled a mossy headstone, but this is basically that scent bottled, and I love it so much. It’s a little bit cold and melancholy, which perfectly suits its imagery."

Reddit: "Really love its earthy, dirt smell with something slightly sweetly floral in the background."
