Cacharel was founded in 1962 by Jean Bousquet in France. Cacharel was first widely noticed in 1963 after one of its modern pink shirts graced the cover of Elle Magazine.

Youthful and fun, Cacharel expanded in 1978 with the introduction of its first perfume, Anais Anais, which is also one of its most highly regarded.
