Description

The coastline is the area where land meets the sea or ocean and there are around 620,000 kilometres (390,000 mi) of coastline on Earth. There are an untold number of smells associated with coastal areas. While these fragrances will smell of the sea, they are more about the feeling of the coast; the overall impression. Yes it's the acquatic accord, salt, seaweed, damp sand, seashells, driftwood, but it is also the surrounding plants, flowers, trees, and the smells carried on the breeze.

You will receive a 1/2ml sample (1ml sample vial filled half full) of each of the fragrances in this sampler.

  1. Ghost Ship Scentporium Big Sable EDP - Take a trip to Michigan's iconic lighthouse destination when you wear this nature-lover's scent: a blend of dune grass, sun and sand, lake breeze and sandalwood.
  2. Red River Apothecary Hatteras Perfume Oil - A clean fresh beachy fragrance with notes of seaweed accord, clean salt accord, gentle rain and white sands.
  3. Phoenix Botanicals In The Pines Organic Perfume - An evocative, velvety amber that carries you to a magical coastal terrain. Fresh pine sap and yellow blooming heathers open up the composition, with a gentle bite of bitter bearberry and juniper spice. A sunny heart of amber glows thru the briny fog, settling into to a soft, smoky base accord of oak bark, pine pitch, and coals still aglow from last night's bonfire. Inspired by the Long Island pine barrens. Behind the dunes, wind-twisted pitch pine and scrub oak intersperse with colorful carpets of mosses, berries, low shrubs and grasses creeping across the sandy soil. With notes of golden heather, palo santo, pitch pine, currant, seagrass, amber and oud.
  4. Botica Botanica Beach Agate Perfume Oil - Inspired by hunting for agate, jasper and driftwood on the wild Oregon coast. Salty ocean spray and seashells, damp sand and overcast skies, sweet sea grass and driftwood-fueled bonfires. The deep meditative state of searching for treasure. Sweet, smoky, slightly musky and thoroughly imbued with ocean magic. With notes of seashells, salty air, driftwood fires and sweetgrass.
  5. LARO Big Sur EDT - The scent of majestic waves crashing against a foggy, redwood-covered bluff. A clean, surprisingly refreshing fragrance that includes handmade California bay leaf tincture. Created by Loreto Remsing of Marin County, California, it features notes of nettles, wild herbs, sagebrush, ocean air, California bay leaf, coastal redwoods, mosses and lichens. It contains only pure essential oils, absolutes, tinctures and natural isolates/compounds. Diluted in organic cane alcohol. Vegan and cruelty-free.
  6. Little & Grim Pointe Aux Barques Perfume Oil - The Pointe aux Barques lighthouse on the shore of Lake Huron in Michigan was constructed in 1848. Though it had many keepers, perhaps most notable was Catherine Shook, the first female light keeper in Michigan. Catherine took over the duty after the passing of her husband, Peter. Some believe the lighthouse and surrounding buildings to be haunted by Catherine with reports of seeing apparitions, hearing voices and laughter or seeing objects move. This is a calm aquatic, with ozonic water notes supported by gentle, sweet florals. It's fresh without being bracing. With notes of ocean breezes, lily of the valley, mild rose, cyclamen, sandalwood, sea kelp, bergamot, citrus zest and just a hint of clove and pepper.
  7. Pierre Guillaume 27 Limanakia - An unusual perfume with a character that is both animalic and mineral, both warm and cool at the same time. From their website: “Plunging into the Aegean Sea, not far from Athens are the rocky beaches of Limanakia. On the shores of the Aegean Sea, you’ll need to be careful when approaching the steep paths that lead to this set of scorching rocky beaches and rockrose-lined mineral alcoves, conducive to embraces… Limanakia”. Pierre Guillaume wished to evoke the animality of mingling skins and the perfume of the cistus bushes, by associating it with the mineral smell of the sea winds caressing the burning rocks. The scent of salty water drying on your skin as you sit on hot stones. The animalic part is composed of a patchouli fraction (stripped back to smell like seaweed) and labdanum. The mineral coolness factor is created from wormwood, salicylates and cumin. Limanakia features top notes of cumin, stone and wormwood; middle notes of immortelle, jasmine, lily of the valley, monoi oil, patchouli and sea salt; and base notes of cashmere wood and labdanum.
  8. Possets Maine-The Sea’s Embrace Perfume Oil - Seashore, rocky beaches and huge swaths of pine forests with their resiny smell. Bluest skies filled with puffy cloud ships setting sail for the Old World. The sea and land mix here in a smooth collision of ocean and the conifers, and those lilacs...the most beautiful lilacs in the world when they are in bloom. Despite the flowers, it's unisex and gorgeous. Floral, aquatic and balsam.
