Lava Rock is a warm and earthy fragrance inspired by the history of Hawaii that is inexorably intertwined with the volcanoes and lava. The Big Island of Hawaii is home to Volcanoes National Park established in 1916. The Park displays the results of 70 million years of volcanism, migration, and evolution - processes that thrust a bare land from the sea and clothed it with complex and unique ecosystems and a distinct human culture. Lava Rock is a cologne.
DEMETER LAVA ROCK REVIEW
Demeter: "This is easily my favorite scent. If you've ever been in a garden with scoria or seen the lava fields of Hawaii, you'll know the accuracy. There are notes of oxidized iron, fresh air, and a background musk. It's everything I could ask for in a perfume and I even have male friends who like to borrow this scent from me when they visit. It's definitely unisex."
Demeter: "This scent has a rare quality of transporting me somewhere. There's an earthy, mineral base with just a hint of fruit and floral. It really smells like standing on sun-warmed rocks and catching nearby flowers and fruit on the breeze. I've never been to Hawai'i but the concept and the fragrance seem to match up."
Demeter: "Interesting concept. Definitely a nice mineral stony smell. Dry. Warm. With flowers near by. I bet if I add Dirt to it it will be more on the mark. That said, it's lovely."
Demeter: "Both my husband and I love its warm blend of minerals, wood, musk, and spice. The name Lava Rock feels accurate. A very tasteful, exotic scent that works well for both women and men."
Fragrantica: "It does have a warm minerality that conjured up stone in the sun, and a hint of tropical fruit - mango especially - that isn’t cloying or overpowering. A bit of a woody or sandy base. This is my perfume of choice for layering with beach summer scents."
Fragrantica: "This is like a spicy mineral rock, I think this is spot on, it's not literally a lava rock because I think that would smell boring. This is more of a spa scent."
Fragrantica: "This is fantastic. It reminds me of the “heat and wood” scent of a fancy sauna. There’s a soft minerality but it’s not overwhelming or harsh. Love!"
Fragrantica: "This scent is strangely addictive...it smells just like the rocks in a sauna and the pool areas of tropical resorts. It is pure, clean, warm, mineral rock, but sometimes I swear I get a scent of sun-baked skin. It seems to be a bit masculine, but I don't think of it as a scent to wear out- more like one you spray on at home to relax and evoke memories. I wear it to bed and give my sheets a spray to bring on peaceful dreams of being warm in the sun."
