Description

The fragrances in this sampler call to mind the moors. A moor is a tract of open land that may be either dry with heather and other vegetation or wet with an acid peat vegetation. Often windy and waterlogged, these areas exist where drainage is poor. They are common in the British Isles, often used as game preserves. Dominated by heather, sedges and grasses, they are acidic, peaty and often boggy and wet, though some areas can be dry. They are typically found in higher latitudes and altitudes. You will receive  a 1/2ml sample (1ml sample vial filled half full) of each of the fragrances in this sampler.

  1. Bunny Nose Scents Haunted Moor Perfume Oil - The wind howls over a darkened moor...is that the wind? With notes of Bunny Nose Scent's haunted blend plus heather, rain, hawthorne and other scrub brush.
  2. Freyja's Daughters Machrie Moor Perfume Oil - On the Isle of Arran in Scotland, located by the old Moss Farm, is Machrie Moor. It is an ancient ceremonial site consisting of six stone circles, cairns, burial mounds and remains, stretching out over the moors. The stone circles are each in varying conditions. Some standing tall, others buried in peat. Some of these have been found to be erected on top of timber posts, which may have been the original circles. These timber structures have shown this site has been used for spiritual practices for 4500 years, though the excavation of this area has not been extensive and likely much more is to be found. With notes of moss, vetiver, bergamot and sea salt. This scent is citrusy from the bergamot and a heavy wet green from the moss and vetiver.
  3. Jo Malone Mallow on the Moor Cologne - Part of Jo Malone's annual limited-edition Brit collection for 2023 entitled "The Highlands", this collection was inspired by the untamed beauty of the Scottish Highlands. But with the Scottish Highlands, nature runs wild in such a dramatic way. Jo Malone really wanted to embrace this with their collection and the idea that however much you may try to control nature, when left to its own devices, it just takes over. Mallow On The Moor is a soft, powdery and charming scent that takes its cue from purple mallow flowers. Perfumer Yann Vasnier presented a mallow accord to Celine Roux that she was really keen on from the start and he worked to create the right balance of softness, sweetness and powderiness in the fragrance. To retain a sense of petaly freshness in the top, violet leaves were used to keep things green and fresh. In the heart, orris and heliotrope were used for softness and, in the base, exclusive roasted oak was blended to represent the earthy, peaty textures of the moors. Inspired by purple mallow flowers and green landscapes, you can picture purple mallow flowers spilling across an untamed landscape, beckoning bees with their vivid color. These pretty petals flutter alongside powdery heliotrope in this soft floral scent enriched by violet leaves.
  4. Nocturne Alchemy Ghost of the Moors Perfume Oil - From the Etherias Collection, Ghost on the Moors features rare oud wood resin, saffron, blue heather and whispers from the moors.
  5. October Occult Moss & Fog Botanical Perfume - Green, herbal, wet earth and soil, lush rolling hills, resinous, misty moors, dense fog, dewy skin, perennial lime and a whiff of mystery in ancient lands. With notes of oakmoss, violet leaf, handmade pine needle oil, silver fir needle, cypress, cedarwood, botanical plant extracts, lime oil, resins and absolutes in an oil base.
  6. The Little Book Eater Wuthering Heights Perfume Oil - Inspired by Emily Bronte's only novel, Wuthering Heights, this scent is made with the scents of black chamomile, wild lily, herbal lavender, fresh fern and earthy juniper. Reminiscent of a walk on the moors, it is the perfect combination for forbidden love, scheming, brooding and revenge. A dark, herbal blend of black chamomile, wild lily, lavender, fern and juniper.
