Dior Vanilla Diorama is a tribute to the favorite dessert of Christian Dior - the Diorama Gourmand. A dessert created just for him by Maxim's, there are no pictures of this desert, nor do any recipes exist. In collaboration with Julien Dugourd, the pastry chef of La Chevre d'Or, they came up with a fragrance that was a contemporary version of this dessert. Centered around Madagascar vanilla, it is warmed and a little boozy with light citrus notes and cocoa.
It was created by perfumer Francois Demachy and launched in 2021. “Vanilla appeals to the senses and is synonymous with immediate pleasure in our collective unconscious. I wanted to celebrate the evocative power and nobleness of this rare, raw ingredient in Vanilla Diorama. I wanted this trail to be a faithful depiction that reveals a highly nuanced olfactory beauty, incarnating a smoothness heightened by joyful citrusy notes, alongside a denser, more organic facet swathed in an enveloping base. This results in a "true", authentic, and intense perfumer's Vanilla,” says François Demachy.
Dior Vanilla Diorama has notes of orange, pink pepper, lemon, cacao, cardamom, rum, bourbon vanilla, sandalwood and patchouli. It is an eau de parfum, edp.
Dior’s luxury fragrance line La Collection Privée has been reimagined for 2018, offering a new way for you to be dressed in Dior. Rebranded as Maison Christian Dior, it goes beyond a collection of fragrances to become a somewhat ritualistic concept; that of perfuming and embellishing spaces and moments in your life. “When I create perfumes I flout technical constraints, schedules, fashions and trends,” Demachy explains of his artistic process. The fragrances in this collection are formed in families of Orientals, Florals, Sensuals, Light Florals and Fruity Florals, non-specific to gender but without being labelled ‘unisex’.
From Fragrantica - "Very similar to TOM FORD "Noir Extreme" and "Tobacco Vanille" without the cinnamon Orange feeling. Because, yes, this one evolves like a Christmas Church cloves and spices.
Fragrantica - "Whatever you think about Dior I think they are masters at making all their perfumes feel like they are from Dior , their is a real house vibe to them all. This is a classy gourmand which never leans too sweet like a gourmet pastry that looks maybe just a little bit better than it tastes …"
Fragrantica: "A zingy opening with orange, pink pepper and rum, something inviting and sultry straight away. It dries down in this beautiful incensy dancing vanilla, true aphrodisiac kind of feeling. I don’t think it is a gourmand, but more of a cozy and boozy dark vanilla..."
