Fulton & Roark Cloudland

Cloudland is an homage to the experience of a summer rainstorm and the intimacy of human touch. The scent features an array of skin musks that are designed to interplay beautifully with your body chemistry, creating an intimate skin scent with fascinating depth and nuance.

The inspiration for this fragrance was: As we arrived at Cloudland Canyon, we had a sense our hike was doomed before it began. Perhaps it was the wild optimism of a new love that led us to ignore the gathering clouds and leave the safety of our car for the trail ahead. Our hike had only just begun when we noticed the clouds roll in thick, heavy, and low. We paused at the overlooks to admire their ominous beauty. Neither of us wanted to be the one to suggest we turn around to call a halt to our shared exploration. And then it happened. We heard it first, the sound of a furious downpour lashing the summer leaves in the distance. A moment later, we could smell the rain approaching—the sharp, electric scent like no other. We started to run, but quickly realized our folly. Within seconds our clothes were soaked. We were two miles from the trailhead, and we couldn't get any wetter. So, we stopped. We laughed. There was no sense in planning what would come next. Eventually, we would get back to our warm and dry home. But, until the rain slowed, all we had was this moment. We embraced, and took it all in—the roar of the storm in our ears, the pounding of our hearts, and the scent of one another's drenched skin intermingled with the smell of rain and wet forest floor. There was no trail to follow, nor time to keep. It was only the two of us and the storm enveloping us. The hike was ruined, and the moment was perfect. 

Cloudland features top notes of citrus zest and transparent jasmine; middle notes of jasmine sambac, ylang-ylang and Cashmeran; and base notes of patchouli, Ambrox, skin musks and moss crystal. Cloudland is an extrait de parfum.

Fragrantica: "It’s an uplifting musky fragrance that has a lot more complexity than they are letting on. This extrait de parfum has wonderful mossy and woody notes that make me reminisce of rainy spring mornings in the Pacific Northwest. My only complaint is that it’s pricey and doesn’t have the longevity or projection that I usually desire in a fragrance. Nevertheless, I still recommend this fragrance to those who appreciate earthy and clean petrichor fragrances."

Fragrantica: "Petrichor magic. Slightly feminine leaning. Saw some tiktok girl say “water nymph vibes” I’d agree with that. A spring and early summer scent that smells like a beautiful rainy day at home you left the window open as you’re folding laundry or studying or something."

Fragrantica: "This is your fresh out of the shower clean and musky scent, but if you were taking your shower with the window open as it rains outside on a crisp spring day on a bed of fresh grass. It’s crisp and cold even, with softly sweet florals, and rainy musks. A lovely take on the fresh and clean scent profile."

Fragrantica: "I was on the fence the first time I tried it on. The second time I knew I had to have it. I’m pretty sure it smells differently on me than most people. I’m not detecting any fresh rain or “dewy” scent, which most people report. My nose picks up the Jasmine the most, followed by Ylang-Ylang, and a strong Ambroxan scent. It’s a soft and gentle scent, reminiscent of the freshest laundry or clean scent that you wish you smelled like when you get a whiff of it on someone else. The projection is top tier, and longevity is around 6-8 hours on my pulse points, without moisturizer. I love to sleep in it and it’s great for work, as I don’t find it has super strong sillage."
