Fragrantica: Read the article by NASA.gov "December 2021: What does space smell like?" and you'll get it, Super Nova is supposed to replicate the smell of space described by astronauts and the fragrance itself gives this metallic, spicy, gunpowder smell.
Fragrantica: I don't even know why I buy other perfumes since this one. It's so magical. Whatever mineral note is present it has enchanted me.
Fragrantica: When I wear this, I feel like I’ve unlocked some hidden area in a video game. This is, as the name somewhat suggests, other worldly. Yea, Supernova and Ganymede are related. Yes they both share a beautiful backbone of the controversial akigalawood. But whereas Ganymede is the flirty glance across the bar, Supernova walks up and grabs your ass.
Fragrantica: Nasty dirty sea / fish perfume in the style of Sirenis. Repulsive in a wearable way. A combination of sea + fish + metals. A more tame Secretions Magnifiques.
Fragrantica: Woah. This thing is metallic, mineralic, and green. It is fresh but also weird as hell and is sure to be a divisive wear. The year is 2040. Humans’ general lack of environmental consciousness coupled with pollutants from war after war have finally rendered our home planet uninhabitable. Only a select demographic (i.e. the rich, white, cishet, and physically fit) have been allowed to ascend to the next frontier on a nearby planet we have colonized. You have stowed away on the space shuttle and successfully made it to the new planet in order to conduct research and bring your findings back to the rest of your middle and lower class, POC, queer, disabled, and elderly brethren back home. You are the everyday human’s only hope. Make your observations count. The elite have set up an intricate network of greenhouses on the new planet’s surface. You stroll through the gardens and notice waterproof robots continuously monitoring the temperature and moisture levels in the enclosure. Their gleaming, metallic bodies are slick with water as they mist the crops. The vegetables look healthy and have grown to four times their usual size thanks to genetic modification. The skin on some nearby bell peppers appears thinner than usual and threatens to burst as the organisms struggle to adapt to their accelerated rate of growth. In another sector, members of the elite stretch out on an artificial beach to relax and tan. The sand is black and smells unsettlingly similar to gunpowder, but you push the thought from your mind and try to act natural as you unfurl your beach towel and lay down. The water has been artificially marine-scented and dyed with chemicals in order to remind the elite of the good ol’ days going for a swim before the beaches on Earth turned toxic. You hear the constant thrum of machinery as a large metal structure in the distance rises from the water. Its submerged mechanisms churn methodically, generating artificial waves. You stifle a grimace from behind your sunglasses. Nearby windmills generate an ocean breeze by atomizing the air with natural ambergris and creating sporadic gusts. Super Nova is a very cool piece of olfactory art. My partner thinks it’s beachy and my roommate hates it. As for me, the jury’s still out… I need more time for observation.
Fragrantica: This is my new signature scent. I get a lot of citrus and mineral and it's a comforting scent. It's notes would suggest something weird but you just have to try it. I bought a back up bottle. This is a must try.
Fragrantica: Green Irish Tweed had a day at the ocean. What a beautiful masterpiece you’ll have that on you all day, the mineral notes and the ambergris will delight you all day. Just gorgeous.
Fragrantica: 90% of the reviews here are misleading. Not very unusual when you’ve never smelled it, nor bought it. The fragrance is superb in many ways. Initially you get completely blasted with freshness and aromatics. After an hour this settles into a mix of ambergris, saltwater and slight florals. It’s very rounded and extremely soft. I dare a comparison to Green Irish Tweed, for those who remember the ambergris in it. Yet the fragrance is so powerful that it radiates all day. Superb. You get noted, yet it’s not overpowering. It’s the first Gritti for me, I trust not the last.
