Reddit: "So I just want to say that out of the 10 or so HoG perfumes I've tried, this is definitely my second favorite. (Pretty sure if you click on my name and look at my comment history, you won't even have to scroll to find out which is my favorite.) Where it takes me: I think of a candle shop I might have gone to several years ago. There was a point in time where I lived in Lancaster, PA and we went driving to all the smaller towns like Intercourse and Middlesex (I know.) and they had candle shops and small, family-owned bakeries and things like that. I feel like this smells like those places. Or a pumpkin muffin. Is pumpkin cake a thing? It's sweet and hearty and mouth-watering. It's the yummiest cake and the warmest candle. First impression on my skin: I get a lot of the nutmeg. I assume that's what it is because it makes me think of cinnamon. About 5 minutes later: It has lost most of it's nutmeg top note completely. Now it's creamy and vanilla-y. Like ice cream. But it's still warm. Like the melted ice cream around a hot apple pie a la mode. I wish the nutmeg lasted longer. It gave the scent a kick. Now it's just calm and sweet. Something I definitely don't mind smelling like. Definitely my new winter scent. Really excited to have all my scarves and sweaters smell like this next winter."
Reddit: "Pumpkin Eater smells like an actual can of puréed pumpkin with some vanilla extract."
Beauty on a Beer Budget: "Pumpkin Eater is exactly what I’m looking for when I want to smell like the traditional fall pumpkin scent. It’s a creamy pumpkin with a bit of a spicy kick at the end, which I assume comes from the nutmeg butter. This leans more towards pumpkin, and not pumpkin pie, so if that’s your jam, you might need to try something else. Pumpkin Eater doesn’t last that long on me, about 2-3 hours, but it’s a pleasant and cozy scent that reminds me of fall. I don’t live near a pumpkin patch of any kind, but this scent totally evokes that imagery in my mind."
