HAUS OF GLOI SPLENDIFEROUS

Reddit: Initial Sniff: "Bright lemon juice, sweet, sugary, cupcake frosting quality to the lemon which differentiates this lemon scent from smelling like cleaning solution and more like a sugary frosted sweet (no buttery smell to the frosting which aligns well with the glaze description. There's an icing sugar quality to the sweetness and a bright tang from the lemon. I immediately think of a sunny yellow. There's a background scent of grocery store cake, it's light, not decadent or indulgent like a gourmet cake. It's more of a child's birthday party cake quality. The sugared violets are subtle and add a floral green garden party note every once in awhile. Drying down: The floral quality is pretty and feminine and is more at the forefront over time. There is an even balance between the lemon quality, the sugary glaze, and the floral violets. The cake note is always in the background to bring the lemon scent back into the dessert realm instead of cleaning solution and is usually the last note I'll smell when taking a big whiff. A few hours later: More white cake notes as if someone ate most of the glaze bits and left some sticky cake crumbs behind. More vanilla, a little dusting of icing sugar. Lemon sticks around for quite awhile. Violets are extremely subtle."

Reddit: "So far, Splendiferous has been my favorite sweet lemon scent. Granted, I haven't tried any of Astrid's lemons yet, and they get major hype; but "Splendiferous" is honestly addictive."

Reddit: "For this one, I had absolutely zero clue what to expect – I didn’t even recognize the name. Looking at it, though, I was reminded of titles of other fragrances that often contained iris or orris root (death notes for me), so I proceeded with caution. Color me surprised when I opened the vial and smelled 7-Up Cake! I applied to skin… and it remained 7-Up Cake. Before the three-hour mark the lemon calms down, leaving behind a pleasant sweetness that isn’t too syrupy or powdery. It’s lovely, and definitely more of a Spring/Summer than Summer/Fall scent, so I’ll likely have to put it away soon and dig it out again next year. When I initially looked through HoG’s catalog, the “sugared violets” note likely scared me off, and then I completely forgot about this one; luckily, the violets don’t turn cosmetic here. I’m also leery of explicit “cake” scents, since they tend to be too sweet. Luckily, this isn’t cloying at all. Rating: 5/5 – Haus of Gloi knows their lemon cake, that’s for sure!"

Working With Monolids Blogspot: "I wanted to swap this but somehow forgot to. I decided to give it another try and OHMYGOD. It's freaking amazing. The play-doh note calmed down and aged beautifully. It's still there but acts as a quiet base anchoring the scent and stopping it from going too searing. The sugared violets are in the forefront now, and the lemon pound cakes are in the background. It now smells like the cutest tea party ever. While it smells like something you can imagine sniffing in a scene from Alice in Wonderland or an Enid Blyton book, it's so, so refined and not kiddy at all. It's definitely an elegant, grown up interpretation of a tea party."
