Description

Blissfully Adrift Upon The Ocean. Unruly, Outnumbered, Restless, Endless. Kirra Curl is salt crusted towels, sand pushed into wax, all but closed out. Artfully self-medicated by floating solitude and reef relief. Zipped up with a coat hanger, tempered by the indoors. Last light spent breathing in something heady; like sea air or an idle pickup. It features top notes of sea salt and lemon rind; middle notes of leather and surf wax; and base notes of vanilla, Australian buddha wood and Australian sandalwood. Kirra Curl is an eau de parfum, edp.

MIHAN AROMATICS KIRRA CURL REVIEWS

Fragrantica: "Smells like you chucked your surf wax in your salvos open weave leather tote, came back after a surf, and now you're sitting on the sand, half your wetsuit peeled off, slowly drying off in the getting warmer mid-morning sun. It's a very memory specific scent for me, but I can't imagine anyone not enjoying this for what it is. It's a great variation on summer scents, which typically aim for citrus, tropical, coconut, fruity cocktail, or sunscreen. Kirra Curl is more sophisticated than it sounds, a wonderfully layered salt, skin, leather, sand, warm wood, and surf wax scent. Perfectly unisex, and definitely a vibe for those looking for a much less generic summer fragrance."

Fragrantica: "This is such a great hot weather scent. It’s 38 degrees in Melbourne today and I feel like I’m at the beach wearing Kirra curl. The middle notes of surf wax and leather are most prominent with some dry woods in the background. It is quite a unique scent, I don’t think I have smelled anything like it before. I see some have said that it leans masculine, I think it’s totally unisex but I can see why some might say that - i think because of the leather note. Pretty good longevity on me, lasts most of the day. Overall banging scent."

Fragrantica: "Definitely beachy. But the surf wax note really throws me - it’s quite strong in the opening and I’m not sure how I feel about it. I appreciate the uniqueness (otherwise it would be a fairly standard salty beach perfume) but I’m on the fence. I will say the dry down is really nice with the vanilla and woods - like a beachside fire at sunset - but I’d like it dialed up."

Fragrantica: "I got a random 2ml sample of Kirra Curl for free when I had other other fragrances online, and already upon opening the package I could smell this already. The overall scent is so reminiscent to me of shopping in City Beach during my adolescent years when brands like Rip Curl and Roxy were at the height of their popularity. This fragrance is also what I would imagine the characters, specifically the younger male characters in shows like Home & Away or Blue Water High would wear. It's what I thought Chris Hemsworth and Isabel Lucas would have smelt like back in 2006. To those not well versed with Australian pop culture and therefore do not really understand the aformentioned references, the best way to describe this is that this smells like hair wax that's labelled as giving your hair a "beachy, tousled" look. I feel like all the mentioned notes on this for me is quite evenly represented, especially upon the opening. Later as this dries down, it ends up smelling like a handmade woody vanilla scented candle that I'd buy from a weekend market during a road trip to Kiama. The projection seems quite significant in the beginning, but I find this dries down to be quite close to the skin afterwards. The longevity is okay. Not the worst but also not the best. Beyond the 6th hour, the fragrance is essentially gone. This is a beautifully unique scent that I feel like personifies the best of the Australian coastline landscape in a perfume bottle, but for $300 ish for 100ml it is a bit expensive. I may get around to purchasing a travel size because I do like the fragrance profile a lot, but I think for the price this is not really worth the splurge."

Fragrantica: "It’s my forever love. The smell of surf wax is soooo specific."

Fragrantica: "Wore this all Summer. it’s beautiful and has a new-wave summer b**tch vibe which i LOVE, it’s warm and synthetic af, wears pretty linear. Longevity is ok, sillage pretty weak even in cold weather. It can be layered with other woody/vanilla fragrances, perhaps leather too. Pretty unisex but def a bit sweet, almost coconut-y. It does become somewhat of a skin scent after like an hour. It’s sexy, fresh, vibrant, unique & synthetic in an awesome way."
