Mooncake was inspired by the celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival that takes place in the 8th month of the lunar calenar. The full moon symbolizes a time of reunion where friends and family gather together for celebration. Mooncake was inspired by a few of the perfumer's favorite flavors - red bean, lotus paste and five nuts. Mooncakes are traditionally made with golden syrup, a thick sugar syrup with a buttery caramel flavor. The perfumer's family usually drinks tea with this dessert, so they have chosen a chrysanthemum scent for a light floral twist on tea and mooncakes. It features top notes of sesame, red bean and rock sugar; middle notes of pastry crust, chrysanthemum and lotus seed; and base notes of golden syrup and walnut. Mooncake is a limited edition perfume.
