Wood Land is a woody fragrance that launched in 2023. It was created by classically trained British perfumer, Lyn Harris who trained in Paris and Robertet Grasse before starting her career working with many acclaimed brands. She was one of the first female master perfumers to break into the industry. Lyn Harris founded Miller Harris in 2000 as well as founding Perfumer H in 2015. The laboratory and shop of Perfumer H are located in Marylebone, London and here each person is able to see how the perfumer works and experience the working laboratory.
Sonya Park, Founder of Arts & Science, asked Lyn Harris to create an olfactory imagining of what an oasis of woodland would smell like in central Tokyo. She interpreted this vision to create a cleansing fragrance that opens the senses and allows the woodlands of Japan to touch the skin. Wood Land creates a healing, green escape from a concrete homogeny. Bigarade orange and juniper wood fused with cooling black pepper, eucalyptus and wet moss wrapped in a lingering mist of sandalwood, cedar and frankincense for a healing finish. Parfumo: A juniper incense accord, that is delicate-dry-cold. No sweetness. Perfect for office.
Man Face: It really does create the feeling of a warm, summer’s woodland walk. But not a British woodland; many of Lyn’s fragrances throw me back to where I spent a good portion of my childhood (and adulthood) in Valencia, Spain. There’s something so heady about the smell of a Spanish woodland with the scorching heat against the pine trees and sap that this fragrance somehow manages to capture.
