POESIE GOLDEN HOUR REVIEWS (Based on reviews of the oil version)
Reddit: This is so very reminiscent of vintage makeup, all powdery and white and soft. It makes me feel like a ballet dancer putting on her makeup for an 18th-century French opera, all shepherdesses in pastels and tutus. The white powder note is strongest, but it's accented by pastel purple florals of lavender (the floral kind of lavender note, not the herbal kind) and violet. (I'm not sure why it's named "Golden Hour" when to me it's much more white + light purple in its scent color.) What starts off as the faintest dusting of cardamom, barely noticeable, slowly grows until its mild spicy earthiness grounds all the powder (though it does remain an accent, not the star). Lavender/violet and cardamom isn't a terribly frequent pairing, but I'm truly loving this combination. And Poesie's typical pastel delicacy is absolutely perfect for this scent. I think I'll wear the heck out of this in late winter and early spring. You do have to enjoy powdery perfumes to love this one. In a couple of hours it dries down to a my-skin-but-better scent. Just so you know, after a year of aging, my 2-ml from last year has further amplified the powdery vintage makeup vibe.

Poesie: When I first read “lipstick accord”, I thought it was one of those up-to-interpretation types of descriptions… but this fragrance proved me wrong! when I was a little girl, I remember getting ready for ballet recitals and sitting in my mom’s bathroom as she applied makeup to my face. this fragrance has that nostalgic cosmetic smell of opening and winding up a lipstick. it’s so feminine while avoiding categories like floral or vanilla (categories which I love, but I also love finding perfume that allows me to branch out a bit).
Poesie: Poesie has mastered the cozy alchemy of bottling hugs and Golden Hour is perhaps one of THE best examples of this throughout the indie perfume universe. Reminiscent of Madar, but without the first buttery, gourmand note, replaced by the barest, short-lasting powder note. The cardamom lingers throughout, floating on a bed of subtle musk. This is a summer afternoon when you are young, everything is possible, and the light goes golden. It's pure, "Stay gold, Ponyboy." Simply incredible.
