POESIE HABIBI REVIEWS (Based on reviews of the oil version)

Reddit: In addition to cardamom (SWOON!) I'm also completely mad for Poesie's sandalwood incense note, so this was a total no-brainer for me, and I blind-bought a full-size with every confidence that I'd love it. As indeed I do. It's honeyed sandalwood incense, very spicy, and smooth and golden. It reminds Husband of the chai at our favorite Indian restaurant, which happens to be in London so it's not like we get there very often - but it's amazingly authentic. I'd been worried there would be too much honey in Habibi, but although it goes on with a blast of honey, it doesn't stick around overwhelmingly, just enough to give it some sweetness. This is such a stunningly warm, spiced (full of cardamom but not exclusively cardamom), golden, resinous and incensey scent. It is one of the heaviest-feeling of my Poesie cardamom scents, so I only tend to wear it in autumn/winter, but gosh it's so good in cold weather.

Reddit: While the staying power isn't the best, this one gets five stars because it captures this dessert without the cloying sweetness I was a little afraid of. Instead, it's spicy, woody, resiny, and just barely gourmand. The honey blooms after drydown, and it's a very realistic sort of clover honey. The sandalwood is a lovely base, not overpowering or leading the show. All very nicely balanced and blended.

Reddit: Wet: goes on with a blast of cinnamon and cardamom, then the sandalwood incense and honey comes out. Dry down: Within two hours, everything is gone but the sandalwood incense and vanilla. Luckily, I love both of those things, so I’ll use up the sample. But I wish the spices lasted longer, because once it’s gone the sandalwood incense makes me wish it was Amaterasu instead. I wished the cardamom stood out more- the cinnamon was by far the strongest spice, and both of the spices went away quickly. While the spices are out Habibi is the bright red cousin to Amaterasu’s gentle yellow, but once they’re gone it turns into her bland younger sister. 4/5.

Poesie: Poesie's cardamom note is my favorite, and I also adore Poesie's sandalwood incense. So Habibi was a no-brainer, and I blind-bought a full-size with every confidence that I'd love it. As indeed I do. It's honeyed sandalwood incense, very spicy, and smooth and golden.
