Innocence was launched in 2015 and was created by Joelle Nealy. With notes of sweet peach skin, delicate coconut milk and skin musk, it is delicately fresh and as tender as a peach skin. According to the website: This is the smell of words like tender, delicate, comfort. And just makes you feel clean and cozy and good. The peach is there but not in a super fruity way and the coconut is more creamy than coconutty. If you know what we mean. A sometimes overlooked beauty, and great for layering. Innocence is a water-based fragrance mist.
Fragrantica: First impressions: Sun, boardwalks, and easy days. Smells like ice cream to me- at first the batter, then later the scent of fresh cones that wafts. There's no soapiness, but I agree with the other reviewer about clean laundry. While the coconut fades into a relatively neutral creamy gourmand after a few minutes, there's still enough there to make me think I put on hawaiin tropic this morning. If sweet scents aren't your preference, like myself, this is not a safe blind-buy. Though, I do think it's a good versatile fragrance to add to your collection if you're into layering. Wear this to recall gentle memories and mix them up with daydreams. Probably smells even better with the sweat and salt of a long day of frolicking.
Fragrantica: This scent is everything I hoped it would be. Photorealistic peaches and coconut cream fade over time into a beautiful creamy skin scent. This scent could work for any season in my opinion, but it is perfect for summer. It has a warmth to it that makes me think of a wood deck that has been heated by the sun. think this a safe choice even for those who don't like coconut, the coconut milk note just creates a cozy creaminess rather than a tropical or sunscreeny scent. Not a huge projector but still able to smell it on myself throughout the day.
Fragrantica: Sampled this today & was so very happy with it - the peach is juicy and just a bit tart, and there is a clean laundry note to it that reminds me of clean sheets that have been dried in the sun & open air. I’d been a bit worried that it would be too young a scent for me (I’m long past my ingenue days) but it felt fresh and interesting without making me feel like I was pretending to be younger than I am. Perfect for a warm muggy day. Reminds me of Floating (Liis), but is definitely it’s own lovely thing. Sits intimately on my skin, but so far is lasting really well.
Reddit: I saved the best for last. I bought this one because I saw it recommended on a thread of *clean girl* perfumes, and because it sounded pretty. Oh. My. God. Let me start off with the stats. It lasted a whopping eight hours on me, which is incredible for these scents. The throw was pretty much right up to the skin, it's definitely a scent that you would only smell if you were hugging or otherwise very close to the person wearing it. Right out of the vial it smelled weirdly peppery, like straight up pink peppercorns, so I was skeptical. Once it dried down a little--I would say an hour after application-- oh boy. Innocence smells like peach skin, it smells like sweet milk, it smells like clean warm skin. All the things it says it will smell like, it does. Allow me to get a little weird now. Innocence smells like the sleepovers of my teenage youth, the ones where we would watch Sailor Moon, eat peach gummies and vanilla coated pocky, and make out (just gals being pals!). It smells like the girls I crushed on in high school and early college--soft skin, long swishy hair, glossy lips. The girls that were always warm, that always had lotion and lip balm to spare. Innocence is definitively a sapphic perfume. I honestly could not stop sniffing my wrist all day. I would immediately fall in love with anyone who wore this scent--I kind of wanted to make out with myself just because it smelled so damn good. I wish this is what my skin smelled like naturally. I'm planning on buying as many full size EDP and oil bottles as my greedy little lovesick hands can get. This perfume makes me feel sexy and accomplished and *clean* in the TikTok Instagram peachy milky skin overconsumption glowy dewy glossy way. It also makes me a bit *redacted*. Ahem.
