Description

Flaming Dandelion is the scent born from the second Rook Scent Experiment. The scent was based on a photograph of a dandelion on fire, taken by international photographer, Rankin. The fragrance community contributed notes they felt the photograph conjured and Nadeem created Flaming Dandelion. It features notes of ylang-ylang, tea, soft smoke, toasted marshmallow, vanilla, powdery notes, amber, amyris, oakmoss and vetiver. Flaming Dandelions is a parfum.

ROOK PERFUMES FLAMING DANDELION REVIEWS

Rook: I got this at first issue and meant to review sooner. I would sum it up as Sergeant Troy and Bathsheba Everdene eating candyfloss at a country fair, while they burn off the nearby cornfields nearby. Sweetness and smoke in perfect balance

Rook: Before this moment, I would have said I'm pretty much married to Rook scent. I wear it almost everyday and have had many compliments. But now I fear I have a mistress on the side. I got Flaming Dandelion on the off chance as I love smokey notes and the reviews mentioned this has them. It's perfect! It does remind me a little of Rook with the smokey note, like a rich, wood stocked bonfire burning in the evening. But where Rook goes more woody with an almost parchment note, Dandelion goes sweet and lighter as it matures on my skin. There's almost a sweetshop scent under the smokey note (probably the vanilla and marshmallow coming through) with a softer, floral note as it dies down at the end of the day. It's lighter than Rook and to be honest, I can see myself wearing Dandelion more in the summer days, and then Rook when it's later, darker and colder. If Rook is sitting in a library with a burning wood fire and a book and scotch, then Dandelion is sitting in an open field with a bonfire dying down in autumn (which is perfect as tonight is Bonfire night here!).

Rook: I thought I would like this scent: I was wrong. I adore it! It reminds me of campfire nights as a child, smoking marshmallows on a fire, which fades to a lovely scent that is a little less sweet but delightful. I only got the bottle today and had to write a review, as it is just simply that nice and immediately made me have that warm, familiar feeling of being cosy by the fire with my family!

Rook: Let me preface this by saying that when I ordered this I was half expecting an "artistic" and potentially not super wearable addition to my collection that would be nice to have as a limited edition fragrance from house that I enjoy. Was I ever wrong. This is a sweet, smokey, resinous and earthy fragrance that immediately grabbed my attention upon first spray and kept me going back to revisit the scent over and over as it developed on my skin. I could easily see wearing this out to almost any occasion and not only having it be enjoyable to myself but to those around me. This is my second purchase from this house (I purchased Undergrowth and have a sample of Forest on the way as well) and I have been thoroughly impressed with both offerings. My only regret is that I did not purchase this earlier and in a larger quantity. Definitely will not be my last purchase from this house.

Fragrantica: It's complex but extremely approachable and wearable. I get mildly "smokey dandelion" and some patchouli in the opening. The dry down smells woody, smokey, sweet(almost like burned sugar.)
