Boardwalk was originally released in 2015 as a limited edition seasonal fragrance and as part of the AFK Cosmetics 2015 Summer Lovin' box. It was reissued as a Summer 2016 limited edition, and has returned a few times by popular request with Summer greatest hits collections always being a best-seller. It has now been released as part of Sixteen92's Monthly Legacy Collection for July, 2024. Boardwalk is a gourmand aquatic fragrance with notes of coconut pulp, coconut milk, Coppertone, sand, sea breeze, driftwood, melted vanilla ice cream cone and sticky cotton candy. It is a parfum.
Sixteen92 produces small-batch fine fragrance inspired by history, literature, lore and magic.
Tumblr: This is a good smell for boardwalk-dwelling vampires and comic shop-working hunters, very misty and atmospheric with a hint of sweetness. I didn’t get any of the cannabis accord, which I’m frankly thankful for; I think perfume companies should think long and hard about where people can get away with wearing stuff.
Indie Scent Library: Smells like an east coast boardwalk vacation. Sweet treats and sunscreen with a wooden base.
Indie Scent Library: There is so much sunscreen in this scent! Sunscreen, salty air, a touch of vanilla, and a whiff of cotton candy. It starts off salty and full of sunscreen and after about an hour the sunscreen starts to take a backseat to sea breeze. Cotton candy and vanilla ice cream pop in and out but never take center stage. I love wearing this scent on hot, humid days and unsurprisingly it works well with wearing sunscreen.
Reddit: This is one of my favorite beach scents! I love salt water taffy and it comes through strong. The salty air and coconutty sunscreen just paint the picture of a lovely beach afternoon.
Reddit: Wet in the vial: Christmas fruit mince pies?? That's unexpected for sure! A deep inhale gives me a salty toffee type scent. Aww yiss, this is what I was hoping for! Wet on the skin: The first thing I notice is the salty oceanic notes, that almost give it a men's cologne vibe. It's immediately followed by a candy type note coming through and sweetening it up. I don't get a particularly strong coconut scent from this, I'm hoping that comes out a bit more as it ages. It does remind me somewhat of sunblock. Dry down: Sillage is great for about an hour, then it rapidly shrinks and disappears. I think the sweet side of it is the first to go, leaving the driftwood/sea salt/ocean side behind. Overall: I adore this! It's the perfect harmony between Carousel and Tugboat! I keep sniffing my wrists over and over. It's getting colder here and it's more of a summer scent, but I'm hoping it ages really nicely. It feels exactly like a hot summer's day on a beach by the ocean with some coconutty sunblock and lollies covered in sand at the bottom on your beach bag.
