Heliophobia was released as part of Sixteen92's Friday the 13th Collection (originally released May 13, 2016). It is a dark green earthy atmospheric with humid floral undertones (not a true floral, this is predominantly a foggy and humid green fragrance with some supporting earthy floral notes). Heliophobia is the fear of sunlight - once believed to be a telltale sign of vampirism. Its scent is shadowy and reclusive; the crumbling and overgrown garden path of a long-forgotten estate, drenched in moonlight and delicate wisps of fog, pierced with a subtle tinge of the scent of untamed fear lurking in the shadows. It features notes of climbing ivy, faded magnolia blooms, moonlit vines, cracked solarium glass, splintered wood, peeling wallpaper, humid air, fog and shadow and feral musk. Heliophobia is a parfum.
Sixteen92 produces small-batch fine fragrance inspired by history, literature, lore and magic.
Reddit: "This is such a great mix of the magnolia and greens. There’s a brightness to this that makes the greens seem almost like fresh cut grass and clover – that little bit sharp and fresh. And the magnolia is so pretty – you could imagine it overgrown in an old garden of an abandoned house. There’s a murky, sort of “off” feel to this, and I’m not sure exactly how much is just the scent of the magnolia, as if the flowers are wilting and starting to decay, but there’s a slight almost powderiness (which I assumed was the wallpaper) and cool fogginess. The musk develops a bit afterward and is dark and murky. This is my favorite of these scents!"
Reddit: "A wonderful "cold" magnolia scent. If you like magnolias go for it."
Indie Scent Library: "At first I get a very authentic blast of ivy and flowers. Like I was standing outside the doorstep of an ivy covered older home on a hot day. It fades to a sweet smoky musk."
Indie Scent Library: "It’s a floral, humid kind of musky scent. The magnolia is strong, but it’s pretty. It really does smell like an abandoned mansion, peeling wallpaper and all. It’s more of a summer scent to me than anything. There’s this sour note that went away with resting. It’s really amazing now and surprisingly wearable."
