It is based on the legend of The Mothman, a menacing 7-foot tall winged humanoid that was first glimpsed near Route 62 in the autumn of 1966. Point Pleasant is the scent of a distant fall carnival carried over humid night air, dark crawl spaces, dusty moth wings, crumbling asphalt and rusted metal, hushed wind through groves of sugar maple and black oak branches, a quick glimpse of glowing red eyes and a sense of impending doom.
