Part of the Monthly Legacy Collection, The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter was originally released as part of the Spring 2015 Collection, inspired by Southern Gothic literature. It is a classic floral with an earthy drydown featuring notes of tuberose absolute, soft skin musk, oakmoss, fresh earth, vanilla and iris. The Heart is a Lonely Hunter is a parfum.
Sixteen92 produces small-batch fine fragrance inspired by history, literature, lore and magic.
As The Final Page Turns: In the vial: Delicate TUBEROSE, VANILLA and the familiar SKIN MUSK I recognize from other oils in Sixteen92's past and present catalogue (it smells like expensive vintage hand lotion). This is a pretty spring fragrance combination. Once it settles down, the earth and tuberose shine through and this is a very nice blend I can't stop sniffing. I think The Heart is a Lonely Hunter will be a lovely scent accessory in my hair or my car for spring as it is a romantic entanglement of floral, earth, powder and vanilla that harkens back to another time and place.
Indie Scent Library: This is a lovely creamy floral. It starts off with tuberose and fresh turned earth, and fades to a creamy vanilla musk.
Indie Scent Library: In the bottle, this is waxy flowers and a hit of that oakmoss-y spice. Wet, this is a lot of soil with no flowers in sight. As it dries down, I get a ton of that waxy tuberose smell! The iris surfaces after about 20 minutes. This reminds me of kneeling on a gardening pad and burying bulbs in a flowerbed. One hour in, this is pretty, waxy flowers with just a hint of wet earth. The musk is layered underneath in a delicate way, and I can’t detect any vanilla at all.
Indie Scent Library: This scent works really well with my skin chemistry even though Sixteen92 typically doesn’t. I get a fresh, slightly powdery floral with vanilla musk, and a strange almost fruity element. Maybe it’s the tuberose? The oakmoss grounds it somewhat. I don’t get any of the earth note.
