Description

A warm wood-smoke-heavy blend that wafts beautifully around you. It is perfect to wear on its own if you'd like to enjoy a campfire fragrance, but it is also fantastic for layering to darken gourmand scents. It features main notes of Applewood smoke, Honeycrisp and Red Delicious apples, caramel, benzoin, resinous amber, guaiacwood and the lightest touch of vetiver. The perfume opens with a blast of smoldering apple wood and smoke. Corvin’s smokes their apples using apple wood and a touch of pecan wood. The resulting smoked apples are rendered into a variety of products for the fall season, including smoked apple sauce, smoked apple cider and smoked apple pie served a la mode. You may find some of these products at Krueger’s Grocery store or at the annual Corvin’s Apple Fest. The apple top note emerges within 30 to 60 seconds, after the initial smoky opening. Thick bubbling caramel and sticky benzoin resin add a thread of sweetness to keep the smoke from verging too acrid, while still allowing the wood smoke to be the star. The apple is a very light top note but adds a bit of nectar and crispness to the opening. Warm, slightly sweet, smoky and cozy. Corvin’s Smoked Apple is an eau de parfum, edp.

Created by Angela St. John as part of a collection of fragrances based on the fictional town of Foxcroft, Maine.

SOLSTICE SCENTS CORVIN'S SMOKED APPLE REVIEWS

Reddit: "If you lack the chutzpah to be that lady who fills her giant purse with apple danishes before strutting out of the breakfast buffet, at least now you can smell like her. A hefty dose of buttery, flaky dough and sweetened apples. Not too spiced. It fades into a gentle, buttery vanilla with apple accents after a few hours. Type of Apple: danish."

Unquiet Things: "I am not a huge fan of apple scents, I guess I’m afraid they’re going to smell like those horrible green apple martinis, which in turn smell like those super gross Jolly Ranchers. And don’t get me wrong–I actually love apples, that is to say, the real thing. I don’t much care for the eating of fruit overall (don’t fear for my health–I love vegetables!) but I have been known to say that the apple is the only fruit worth a damn. So it’s not that I don’t like them! I generally just don’t like apple-scented things; they’re typically a neon, cartoon parody of their true selves. So, knowing this about myself, the sampling, then, of Corvin’s Smoked Apple is such a marvelously wonderful surprise; this is the most sweetly nuanced smoke-scent I have ever encountered: woodsmoke; smoldering apple bits, if you, say, roasted a Honeycrisp over a campfire; the burnt caramelized edges of a brown-sugar-y baked thing, and a touch of earth and detritus from the forest floor that has crept into the flames. Unexpected and utterly delicious."

Indie Scent Library: "This one smells like fall to me, woodsmoke and caramel apples. A perfect scent for All Hallows’ Eve. I got this one because my husband loves the smell of apples and I love smoky but sadly my husband doesn’t smell apple at all, just smoke. Sadly, his nose is dead from smoking and he doesn’t have a sensitive nose like mine that can pick out subtle nuances in scents. Oh well, I still love it! Fabulous throw and longevity as well. I’ll have to pick up the original Corvin’s Apple Fest now, I’m pretty sure I would like it too even though I have never really been the hugest fan of apples, Solstice has won me over with theirs!"

Indie Scent Library: "All the rich campfire smoke of SMM with sticky benzoin, baked apples, and a hint of caramel. The sweet elements are a little overwhelming upon application and the apple is pretty dominant, but it dries down into a warm heady smoke scent with just the slightest thread of apple keeping it delicious."

Indie Scent Library: "It is a perfect mix of Smoky Mountain Mallow and delicious baked apple to my nose, with some gorgeous fresh-cut burning wood notes. I just adore Solstice Scents’ apple and woodsmoke notes. The smoke isn’t overwhelming and you do get lots of warm, caramelized realistic apple, but it is definitely a smoke-forward scent nonetheless."

Fragrantica: "Much to the chagrin of my partner I love smoky things. This is right up my alley. It’s the apple fest but with less caramel and more smoke. The smoke balances it out and I find this much more wearable. Perfect thing to wear to go apple picking today. You do kind have to reapply this one a bit so it’s good it cones in a small roller. Hopefully the bees won’t be following me around."

Fragrantica: "Sweet, crisp, fresh apple with the standard SS smoke note. I would use this for layering with a vanilla or caramel themed fragrance."
