Description

Dark Skies is an aromatic fragrance created by Caitlin Hayes. Inspired by the romance of the Sonoran desert at night, sweet agave is tempered with aromatic desert sage, refreshing saguaro, and narcotic tuberose. Dark Skies is a sweet desert tuberose with notes of desert sage, agave, tuberose, saguaro, sandalwood and vanilla. It is an extrait de parfum.

SORCELLERIE DARK SKIES REVIEWS

Reddit: The opening of this is a bit polarizing. My partner, who I make smell all my smells with me, said it reminded him of Zoologist "Squid" immediately. I'm not sure I see the comparison but Google tells me Squid does have topnotes of Amyl Salyclyate and Pink pepper which might be giving a comparable floral/tangy/herbal opening to his nose (I, personally, get none of this from Squid). For my part, with Dark Skies, I get a punch of savory herbs, and a little bit of something funky, floral, and just a touch 'diapery'. I think the sage, tuberose, and sandalwood are fighting me here. Sometimes sandalwood does weird things on my skin so it might be that. Still, that initial punch went away quickly and left a more balanced soft vanilla scent behind. I still get the herbs if I go looking for them, but it's much sweeter and gentler now. I actually think this could be a cozy, calming sleep scent. There's something almost comforting and nostalgic about it. It brings up memories of agave-sweetened herbal tea steeping in a to-go mug while waiting in the early-morning dark to be picked up by the school-bus in late autumn.

Fragrantica: The initial spray can overwhelm you. In about 15 minutes the fragrance settles down and begins to become more blended. I found the scent to be more green than aquatic. It was a unique scent that only reminded me of Tokyo Milk Arsenic. There is a sweet component that makes the scent intriguing as it doesn’t become cloying but adds depth. I got 10-12 hours from this with 3 sprays. It is one of the best green/herbal fragrances I own now.

Reddit: Extremely sweet! Sweet to the max. Bright tuberose that is dripping with agave, and beautifully supported by the dessert sage. I am not familiar with saguaro, so I can't speak to that. But interestingly this scent is distinctly dry, I could feel it in my throat. And I don't mean that in an unpleasant way! But again, this scent is so sweet. The tuberose is borderline too much. I love the sage note in combination with everything, but it is just too sweet for me personally. Though it was the strongest of all the ones I've tried! Great throw, long longevity. Overall: The sweetest desert fairy.

Reddit: Oh wow that's sweeter than I expected!! The sage is so good. The tuberose is a nice addition to this! It's very dark. Interesting. I don't think this is something I would wear but its cool to have! 7.5/10
