Strange Invisible Perfumes has a perfume shop in California, located near the beach in Venice, and it was founded in 2000. Alexandra Balahoutis is the creator of the company, Strange Invisible Perfumes, and also creates all of the fragrances in the line. All of the fragrances are completely natural.
Balahoutis grew up loving all things scented and knew at an early age she would be a perfumer-maker. Opting not to go the traditional French perfume-making school, she pursued natural essences and studied with John Steele, following her interest in the distillation of natural essences.
Strange Invisible Perfumes are luxury natural perfumes, made with the finest raw materials. Her philosophy on the work she does - “Through the gorgeous vapors of botanical perfumery, Strange Invisible Perfumes serves the reality, not the dream, of luxury craftsmanship.”
The fragrances she has created range from the stunningly beautiful Fire and Cream (oranges & orange blossom, tuberose, frankincense, white lavender, vetiver, sandalwood & patchouli) to the very, very strange, dark and no less beautiful Black Rosette (Roses, black tea, leather & spearmint).
The name of the company comes from a line in Antony & Cleopatria "From the barge a strange invisible perfume hits the sense of the adjacent wharfs."
Strange Invisible Perfumes are often strange, and beautiful, but never invisible to the senses.
