Empty and abandoned houses or buildings around the world have scents all their own. With the introduction of drones, there are so many photos and books on these abandoned properties and they are fascinating! They even have a name for it - Abandoned Urbex Adventure (which is short for Urban Explorer). This sampler will allow you to explore the scents of once lovely, lived-in houses and occupied buildings, now overtaken by neglect and Mother Nature.
You will receive a 1/2ml sample (1ml sample vial filled half full) of each of the fragrances in this sampler.
- BPAL The Forbidding Foyer 2012 Perfume Oil - Thick shadows hang heavy across fungus-smeared, dilapidated wainscoting. Cobwebs hang like fine lace across sagging mouldings and rats scuttle past gaping doorways. The faint scent of brimstone, ghostly breath laced with cognac, neglected mahogany panels and rot.
- Little and Grim Footfalls Perfume Oil - Empty halls in a sun-warmed farmhouse, cobwebs clinging to wisps of pipe smoke and cologne. Shh- did you hear that? Notes of patchouli, cherry pipe tobacco, cinnamon leaf, clove bud, black pepper, white cedar, amber, tea leaf, bergamot and just a bit of marshmallow.
- Obscura Hortus Misselthwaite Manor Perfume Oil - Inspired by The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, imagine riding in a horse-drawn carriage across those windy moors where the heather grows and seeing the outline of the great house set against a dreary sky or exploring its many rooms, perhaps catching a glimpse of the ethereal apparition of Lilias Craven in a dark corridor. A door opens where her dressing table sits. Its surface dusty and covered in dried roses and a silver antique mirror as the faint sound of a music box plays in the pale light from an open window. The gossamer curtains dance, wafting in the scent of new roses from a secret door across the yard. Inspired by the perfumer's daydreams of Misselthwaite and its rooms. With notes of dark patchouli, pine, old wood, neroli, lavender and a ghosting of rose. Sweet, dreamy, with an antique charm.
- Sixteen92 The Ghost Next Door Perfume Oil Extrait (Halloween 2021) - A smoky, rich wood with a sweet caramel-like finish. With notes of sweet smoke, olibanum resin, black embers, caramel tobacco, attic wood and ectoplasm.
- The Strange South Windsor Perfume Oil - Peeling wallpaper, dusty cedar cabinets, pipe smoke, lavender and wisteria.
- Ghost Ship Scentporium Fall River EDP - Fall River revisits the blighted Lizzie Borden House in Fall River Massachusetts and features notes of black currant, clove and oud.
- Sixteen92 Heliophobia EDP - Heliophobia was released as part of Sixteen92's Friday the 13th Collection (originally released May 13, 2016). It is a dark green earthy atmospheric with humid floral undertones (not a true floral, this is predominantly a foggy and humid green fragrance with some supporting earthy floral notes). Heliophobia is the fear of sunlight - once believed to be a telltale sign of vampirism. Its scent is shadowy and reclusive; the crumbling and overgrown garden path of a long-forgotten estate, drenched in moonlight and delicate wisps of fog, pierced with a subtle tinge of the scent of untamed fear lurking in the shadows. It features notes of climbing ivy, faded magnolia blooms, moonlit vines, cracked solarium glass, splintered wood, peeling wallpaper, humid air, fog and shadow and feral musk.
