Description

Tom Ford Neroli Portofino is one of the original 12 fragrances released in the Private Blend collection. A citrus aromatic that strikes a very modern balance of citrus with just the right amount of amber. A summery fragrance, but not a throw-away - it has substance after a long day of wearing it.

Notes of bergamot, mandarin orange, African orange flower and amber.

Reviews of Tom Ford Neroli Portofino

From Bois de Jasmin - "It opens up on an aromatic herbes de Provence accord (lavender, thyme, and rosemary), which when paired with the zesty bergamot gives Neroli Portofino an exhilarating quality. It has a cool, crisp character, which is retained even in the drydown. The green floral notes of neroli and orange blossom provide a soft, silky layer to the composition, while the base notes of herbal musk and woody amber lend Neroli Portofino a classical polish."

    Loved this

I was looking for a neroli/citrus scent specifically and this did the trick in a big way. I also tried Guerlain Neroli and it wasn't quite was I was looking for. While this does smell slightly synthetic, I feel that's the case with all perfumes and was not put off by it. I use the the brand Glossier and their signature scent is orange blossom neroli and I was hoping to emulate that. This was it!

    Neroli Portofino

Average is the name of the game with Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino. It is a subtle, soapy scent, that is fresh, clean, pleasant, and reminiscent of summertime. So reminiscent, in fact, that I would even call it summer in a bottle. It is a really great scent but is severely lacking in performance and projection, possibly due to the clean ingredients used to make it. Worth the purchase at sub-hundred-dollar levels, but otherwise avoidable, both because it lacks any real punch, and because whatever is there doesn't seem to last more than four hours maximum, and is then gone completely.

    Major disappoint for me...

Just a synthetic mess on my skin, as well as on fabric. I don't find it anywhere close to realistic, unlike the reviewer below me. The scent reminds me of some type of cleaning fluid I've smelled before. It's borderline repulsive at times, I feel. While the performance is impressive, it was difficult to wash off for this very reason. I'm just glad I didn't end up blind-buying something I dislike this much.

So far the most realistic orange blossom

I've tried a number of other orange flower scents: Lush, Fragonard, Serge Lutens, Elie Saab, Jo Malone, and I think this one gets the closest to a realistic orange blossom fragrance, although other citrus scents do come out on the drydown. Yes, it's a little and linear, but also very pretty. Refreshing and longlasting and not overpowering.
