VINTAGE - Bombi Black Magic Cologne
Introduced: 1945 - Feminine
Notes: Top note of aldehydes; middle notes of ylang-ylang, gardenia and spices; and base notes of musk, sandalwood, amber, patchouli and vanilla
Bombi's Black Magic fragrance launched in 1945 and involved the Emporium Department Store in San Francisco who had printers mix Black Magic perfume with the ink for their full-page perfume ad. As a result, Emporium sold out of its stock of Black Magic in less than a day.
This Floriental fragrance was in production for about 20 years. Their advertising theme revolved around bewitchery and their perfume bottles displayed a black design of a cauldron brewing over an open fire with a plume of smoke rising into the air. One of Bombi's ads shows a spider web and the wording "Bewitchery in perfume" and another read "Magnetic as midnight. Prophetic as a quickened pulse."
Black Magic has been discontinued since the 1960s.
We are decanting from an unopened, boxed bottle of the original cologne version of the fragrance.
