Description

Shinrin Yoku is bright rays of bitter orange, Japanese grapefruit, black geranium, black pepper and spicebush filtering through a forest of green cedar tips, alpine conifers, green patchouli and vetiver root, accompanied by gently flowing stream water, wet clay and the waiting stillness of dark loam. Shinrin-Yoku (forest bathing) is a term that emerged in Japan in the 1980s as a physiological and psychological exercise.

This is the alcohol free perfume, not an oil. It is also free of parabens, phthalates, PDGs and other unpleasant things. A hand-blended and small batch perfumery using natural essences, ethically rendered accords, and lab-created aroma molecules.

ALKEMIA SHINRIN-YOKU REVIEWS

Fragrantica: This fragrance is an amazing journey through the forest and is aptly named. I get everything from the damp soil of the forest floor to the tops of the fresh, citrusy fir trees. There is a spicy undertone and I pick up wafts of delicate water notes as well. A beautifully crafted fragrance!

Alkemia: I received a sample of Shinrin-Yoku in my order and was immediately in love with the scent at first sniff! The bitter orange and grapefruit notes are beautifully bright and invigorating, followed by the warm spicebush and patchouli, and settling into the loamy dark coniferous forest. The fragrance is a delight and I will be purchasing a full size bottle immediately!

Reddit: My thoughts -- okay I'm obsessed with this perfume and I didn't even order it. It's very different than anything I usually wear, and nothing in the description jumped out at me as particularly interesting to me. But I just keep wearing it and smelling my wrists. It feels more masculine than what I would usually wear (to be fair kittens in flower crowns are arguably more masculine than my usual perfume taste) with a sharp note like freshly cut wood and clove smoke over something deeper and rounder, like a mossy forest ambiance and the sweet and slightly funky smell of very ripe fruit? I honestly don't know. Wearing this makes me feel like a very sophisticated woman in a slinky pantsuit holding one of those long cigarette holders, standing there knowing the secrets of the universe but not bothering to tell anyone.
