Description

Bergamot is a citrus aromatic fragrance that launched in 2023. It was created by classically trained British perfumer, Lyn Harris who trained in Paris and Robertet Grasse before starting her career working with many acclaimed brands. She was one of the first female master perfumers to break into the industry. Lyn Harris founded Miller Harris in 2000 as well as founding Perfumer H in 2015. The laboratory and shop of Perfumer H are located in Marylebone, London and here each person is able to see how the perfumer works and experience the working laboratory.

Made to honor the jewel of all citruses, this cologne cleans and refreshes with a brush of sophistication. Calabrian bergamot is fused with clean aldehydes, Paraguayan petitgrain and Sicilian lemon. Warm clove and frankincense rest on juniper wood and a smudge of Venezuelan tonka with a sprinkling of French lavender. Bergamot is an eau de parfum, edp.

PERFUMER H BERGAMOT REVIEWS

Fragrantica: When I first smelled this in a local shop I immediately knew I had to have it at some point. It smelled like the most fresh and interesting bergamot I've smelled, a balance of super bright and clean with heavier notes thanks to the juniper. I might love it so much because of the juniper, since I grew up in a desert infested with what my dad always called the invasive junipers, often mistaken for cedars. The juniper is so strong that there is almost a petrichor element for me, reminding me of the dusty branches, freshly rained on. This scent also transforms a lot on me—there is about an hour where it gets super sweet like candy, maybe from the presence of lemon. Funnily, that subsides into a funky and surprising backbone for a bergamot scent, a resinous note I am beginning to pick out in many of my favorite perfumes, even ones that are far flung from this one. All in all, I think this is a unique bergamot, and a nice long-lasting one, too—took a shower on the first day after wearing it and it was still there on my arm after. I love it so much that it has become my very first full sized bottle after a year of learning about perfume and sampling scents—my daily scent has been found, at least for this season

Fragrantica: This is a nuanced, incredibly real and fresh, high quality composition that stays with the wearer in a reminder that perfume can be art. And good art, can of course be simple. There is nothing synthetic-smelling about this perfume. It is a good-natured friend, extending to the wearer some love and light in the form of zingy, real bergamot zest, light aromatics and aldehydic sparkle.
