Description

Ink is an aromatic fragrance that launched in 2015. It was created by classically trained British perfumer, Lyn Harris who trained in Paris and Robertet Grasse before starting her career working with many acclaimed brands. She was one of the first female master perfumers to break into the industry. Lyn Harris founded Miller Harris in 2000 as well as founding Perfumer H in 2015. The laboratory and shop of Perfumer H are located in Marylebone, London and here each person is able to see how the perfumer works and experience the working laboratory.

Distinctive to all who wear it, the cerebral scent of blue ink on white paper conjures late nights in dimly lit libraries. Indian papyrus, Haitian vetiver and cedarwood fused with Iranian elemi and rose, with hints of Ambroxan and Isobutyl Quinoline. Ink is an eau de parfum, edp.

PERFUMER H INK REVIEWS

Fragrantica: Sometimes, a scent can send me on a journey to a place I've been a long time ago or imagined in my dreams. Ink is one such perfume. When I smell it, I am instantly transported to an old library by the sea, perhaps somewhere in Japan. It’s quiet and peaceful there, and the wooden stairs and pillars of the library are worn smooth. The shelves are lined with old leather-backed books. Soft rain falls outside, and the library windows are open, allowing the scent of the nearby sea and the sound of waves to drift in. This perfume is a masterpiece and a work of art. 5/5

Fragrantica: I adore this one. Right away it smells like a moscow mule to me. It’s sexy in a nonchalant way. I’ve come to enjoy this both for day and night. It’s leather, metal, cool. Not cold, quite the opposite, it feels warm without being smoky or sweet. I wish it moved a bit more outwards but that just means it makes for a favorite for hugs and such.

Fragrantica: Contemplative, brooding and a touch melancholy, Ink is my favourite from the brand. It’s also one of the best vetiver fragrances you’ll find.

Fragrantica: Absolutely incredible. I've never smelled anything better. It's simultaneously fresh like a downpour of rain on the opening, then spicy, then dries down to the most wonderful thing I've ever smelled. I gave a hug and my friend wouldn't let me go, in order to keep smelling this.

Fragrantica: Calling all librarians! Ink opens with dry, woody, musky notes of well-loved antique furniture, old paper and pencil shavings, blended seamlessly with a subdued, watery metallic note, let's call it ink, though I think it's a really clever use of ambroxan. Cedar and rooty vetiver dominate with papyrus and angelica, but the note list should probably be set aside as Ink is really experienced as a single accord, a photo-realist summoning of old libraries, polished book stacks, scholarly exertions. A beautiful daytime scent for the studious, or just for personal pleasure. Very unperfumey. I have a bottle and love wearing it, enjoying catching it from time to time.
